With a more consistent torque curve, Italian sports car styling, and 250 miles on a charge&#8230;..I seriously want one.  Of course for long trips this car may not make the cut, but it&#8217;s a good start.</p>
<p>I think it is funny (and not ha ha funny) that none of the major car companies have an electric car that would stand with Tesla Motors Roadster.  They must have more resources, more access to technology, more money, and more people.  Sad really when fear and oil eliminates the business world&#8217;s &#8220;survival of the fittest&#8221; basis.  There is demand for electric cars, there is now the technology to make a practical electric car, and all it will take is for mass production and economies of scale to kick in and we&#8217;ll be seeing our $25,000 electric car that doesn&#8217;t look like a &#8220;wedge&#8221;.</p>
<p>I hope the Tesla Roadster leads to the Tesla SUV, and lots of them.  Maybe in the future GM, Ford, Dodge, Honda, Toyota, and Nissan will be buying Tesla stock to subsidize their losses with decreased sales.
